2 drug peddlers held in Budgam

Srinagar, Apr 21: Police today said to have arrested two drug-peddlers in Budgam and recovered psychotropic substance from their possession.
A Police party from Budgam at a checkpoint established at Bathaar intercepted a vehicle (Innova) bearing registration number JKO1T- 3989 with two persons on board.
“They have been identified as Shabir Ahmed Dar, son of Mohammed Abdullah Dar, resident of Humhama and Adil Manzoor Paul, son of Manzoor Ahmed Paul, resident of Narkara Budgam. During checking, police was able to recover 06 bottles of Codeine, 01 drinking water bottle-01 litre filled with codeine-based syrup and Alprazolam 300 tablets,” a police spokesperson said.
Both the accused persons have been arrested and shifted to a police station where they remain in custody. “Vehicle used in the commission of crime has also been seized,” police said.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR numbers 93/2021 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Budgam and further investigation has been initiated.
