2 drug peddlers arrested with poppy straw

JAMMU, Jan 15: Greater Kailash police under ‘Operation Sanjeevani’ arrested two drug peddlers along with 35 kilograms of poppy straw.
As per police sources, during routine patrolling, a team from Greater Kailash Police Post intercepted Indigo car bearing registration number PB07AU-0531.
During checking, police recovered 35 kilograms of poppy straw from the vehicle and arrested two persons, who have been identified as Virinderjeet Singh, son of Gurbachan Singh and Sikander Singh, son of Swarn Singh, both residents of Hoshyarpur, Punjab.
A case under FIR Number 5/19 under relevant sections of the law has been registered at Police Station Gangyal and further investigation of the case is going on.
Police team led by Incharge Greater Kailash Police Post SI Vicky Thappa made the arrest under the supervision of SHO Gangyal SI Nayat Ali, SDPO South Dr Sunniya Ashkoor Wani and SP South Vinay Kumar.
