2 drug peddlers arrested with contraband

JAMMU, Nov 15: Police arrested two drug peddlers along with contraband.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Police Station Nagrota led by SHO Inspector Mohammad Showket laid a naka near TCP and intercepted a truck bearing registration number JK02BQ-9544.
During checking, police team recovered 370 grams opium and 4 kilograms poppy straw from the vehicle and arrested one person, who was identified as Tarseem Kumar, son of Om Parkash, a resident of Bhour Camp Satwari, District Jammu.
A case under FIR Number 423/2020 under Section 8/15/17 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Nagrota and investigation started.
Meanwhile, a joint team from Nowabad Police Station led by SHO Inspector Deepak Pathania and Incharge Police Post Talab Tillo led by SI Kali Charan during checking at Talab Tillo apprehended a person along with 34 intoxicant injections.
The arrested person has been identified as Aryan Sharma, son of late Raj Kumar of Garkhal Tehsil Akhnoor, at present Pouni Chak District Jammu.
A case under FIR Number 144/2020 under Section 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Nowabad and investigation initiated.
