RAJOURI, Apr 15: The police arrested two drug-peddlers from Thannamandi area of district Rajouri today and recovered about 17 gms of heroin from their possession.
Reports said a police team from Thannamandi, led by Insp Sachinder Pal Singh, under the supervision of SDPO, Parupkar Singh, during a naka intercepted one person identified as Iraz Khan, son of Sarfraz Ahmed, resident Thannamandi. Upon search, he was found in possession of nearly 10 grams of heroin.
The accused was arrested on the spot and the contraband seized. A case FIR No. 39/2026 was registered against him in this regard.
In a separate action, police nabbed another individual, identified as Imtiaz Ahmed @ Topi, son of Ali Mohd, resident of Karyote village in Thannamandi. During search, about 7 grams of heroin was recovered from his possession. He was arrested on the spot along with contraband.
A case FIR No. 36/2026 under NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Thannamandi against him. Further, investigation was in progress.
