KATRA, Feb 9: Police today arrested two drug peddlers and recovered approximately 49.43 grams of heroin like substance from their possession.
The accused were travelling in an Eeco Car, bearing registration number JK02BD-1900, which was intercepted by a Police party during naka checking in Katra.
During checking, approximately 41.02 grams of heroin like narcotics was recovered from the driver, identified as Manish Kumar of Sarwad Katra while 8.41 grams of heroin like substance was recovered from co-passenger, namely Prem Kumar of Sarwad.
Police arrested both the persons and seized the recovered heroin as well as the car. In this connection, a case FIR number 43/2024, under section 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Katra and further investigation is going on to unearth the backward and forward linkage.
The whole operation was led by SHO Katra Nishant Gupta under the supervision of SDPO Katra Surinder Singh and SP Katra Vipan Chandran.
