2 doctors among 5 attached for negligence

Srinagar, Mar 21: The Directorate of Health Services, Kashmir (DHSK), has taken action against five employees, including two doctors, in connection with negligence earlier reported from SDH Chadoora.

As per the orders issued in this regard, based on the recommendations of the Enquiry Committee, Ansar Sheikh, MTS PHC Panzan Block Chadoora, Mushtaq Ahmad Rather, MTS PHC Panzan Block Chadoora, and Abdul Gani Waza, MTS SDH Chadoora, have been suspended and attached with DHSK with immediate effect until further orders.
“Whereas, a viral video was circulated on social media on 14-03-2025, regarding the presence of a dog inside the Emergency Trauma Room of SDH Chadoora,” the order stated.
To ascertain the actual facts, a committee was constituted to investigate the matter.
“The committee… observed that negligence had been committed… while performing legitimate duties in the Emergency Trauma Room of SDH Chadoora and recommended that disciplinary action, as warranted, may be initiated against them.”
Further, the committee also found that negligence had been committed by the doctors in performing their respective job functions and recommended that disciplinary action, as per the rules, be initiated against them.
The doctors identified are Dr. Mubashir Amin, Medical Officer (RMO), SDH Chadoora, and Dr. Aqeel Afzal, Medical Officer, Block Chadoora.
“Now, based on the recommendations of the Enquiry Committee constituted vide the above-quoted order, the above-named doctors are hereby attached with this Directorate until further orders.”
It is worth noting that a viral video allegedly showed a dog sitting on a chair in a ward, with no medical staff present.
The committee was also tasked with examining whether the video was deliberately staged or edited to defame a busy Government hospital by vested interests who have previously attempted to mislead the public.
DHSK reiterated its commitment to maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and stated that it will not tolerate any laxity at any level.
