2 die, 9 injured in road accidents

SRINAGAR, Aug 1: Two persons have died, while nine others were injured in different road accidents across the Valley.
A police spokesman said a Sumo JK02M/5517 hit and injured a pedestrian Zeeba wife of Ghulam Hassan Bhat of Bilal Colony at KP road in Mattan, Anantnag. She was shifted to District Hospital, Anantnag for treatment where she succumbed to her injuries.
A Van JK03B-3632 hit and injured a pedestrian Mohammad Ishaq Khanday son of Abdul Majeed Khanday of Wandivalgam at Wandivalgam in Kokernag, Anantnag. The injured succumbed to his injuries on way to a hospital.
In another accident, a Maruti 800 car bearing registration number JK04B/3596 driven by Javid Ahmed Shah son of Yaseen Shah resident of Ompora Colony, Budgam and a Santro car bearing registration number JK05/8812 driven by Mushtaq Ahmed Bhat son of Late Ghulam Rasool resident of Krumshoora, Khan Sahib collided at village Bugroo, in the jurisdiction of Police Station Khan Sahib, Budgam. Both the drivers received injuries in the mishap and were shifted to hospital for treatment. Police has registered a case in this regard.
A Sumo JK09/5879 hit and injured two pedestrians Ghulam Rasool Bhat son of Ghulam Mohammad Bhat and Mehbooba Begum wife of Ghulam Rasool of Umerabad at Umerabad in Parimpora. Both the injured were shifted to a hospital for treatment.
An Alto car KMR-3-Temp-Y-01M turned turtle at Parray Nar Hatmulla in Kupwara. In this accident five persons travelling in the car got injured who were shifted to District Hospital, Kupwara for treatment.
The spokesman said police has filed cases in these accidents.
