KATHUA , July 16: Two dead bodies of youth were recovered from Jammu-Pathankot National Highway early this morning at Chakgota falling under the jurisdiction of Lakhanpur Police Station.
According to police this morning at 5 am they were informed by the local people of Chakgota that two unidentified dead bodies are lying on NH in a pool of blood who most probably were killed by a speeding vehicle in the wee hours.
After hearing the message, police rushed to the spot and shifted the dead bodies to District Hospital Kathua for identification and postmortem.
The bodies are lying in mortuary of hospital for postmortem. It said the two youth appearing in the age group of 30 to 32 years were on way from Lakhanpur to Hatli but their identity has not been known so far.
The Lakhanpur Police has informed all the Police Stations of Jammu as well as neighboring Punjab to get the clue of the two youth. However it has not received any information till last reports came in. The Lakhanpur Police has registered a case under Section 304 of RPC and started investigation.
Meanwhile, one motorcyclist died after he met an accident when he was on way to his home on the two the wheeler late last night. His bike fell into the D5 Canal near Rajbagh. The dead body was found in the paddy fields in near by area this morning.
He has been identified as Ajay Kumar , S/O Booti Ram of Bambura Rajbagh.
The Rajbagh Police has registered a case under Section 174. The body was handed over to family after postmortem by the police for last rites.
