RAJOURI, Oct 3: Two J&K Police Constables were killed when their car rolled down into a gorge in Lamberi area of Nowshera this afternoon.
A Police official said that mishap took place at around 1.20 pm when both the Selection Grade Constables Mohd Taj, son of Munshi Khan, resident of Balakote and Gopal Krishan, son of Hem Raj, resident of Dungi Garati, were on way to Rajouri in WagonR No. JK02BN/2845. They were posted at District Police Lines, Jammu.
As they reached Lamberi, the speeding car went out of control and rolled down into nearly 150 feet deep gorge. The locals of the area rushed towards the accident site and police party also arrived there after some time. Both the critically injured were rescued from the wreckage of the vehicle and rushed to Sunderbani hospital, where Mohd Taj was declared as brought dead.
Critically injured, Gopal Krishan (Sgct), son of Hem Raj was provided first aid at Sunderbani and then referred to GMC Hospital, Jammu. He also died on the way. His body was brought back to his home village this evening.
