2 cops injured in militant attack

Two policemen were injured as militants attacked a police party in Manzgam village of Kulgam today.
An official said that the militants attacked a police party in Manzgam area of Damhal Hanjipora, Kulgam in which two policemen received injuries.
“Both were shifted to SDH DH Pora where their condition is out of danger,” the official said.
They have been identified as Zahoor Ahmad and Imran Ahmad, both SPO’s.
Meanwhile, the area has been cordoned off and hunt has been launched to nab the attackers.
Meanwhile, an encounter that broke late night on Friday was called off early morning today as militants managed to flee from the spot.
A police official said that militants managed to give a slip after the initial exchange of fire at Methan in Chanpora area.
Police today said that the stray bullets from the encounter site in Srinagar hit the vehicle and official residence of Commissioner/Secretary GAD. Police said there was no loss of life or any injury in the incident.
Police said that a vehicle bearing No JK02CH/0144 allotted to M K Dwivedi Commissioner/Secretary GAD and residential house of ENT specialist Dr Kulvider Mehta at Tulsibagh were hit by stray bullets fired at the Methan encounter site.
“A vehicle and window of the house were hit by bullets. There was no loss of life or any injury to anyone,” the official said.
