2 brothers among 3 more held for Mendhar encounter

JAMMU, Oct 27: Police today detained three more persons including two brothers for providing food and shelter to the militants stranded in Bhatta Durrian forests of Mendhar tehsil in Poonch district. Army operations against the militants entered into 17th day today.
Those detained include Mohammad Arif, 24 and Mohammad Tariq, 22, both brothers and sons of Mohammad Rashid and Wahid Iqbal son of Mohammad Khurshid, all residents of Bhatta Durrian. Click here to watch video
Nearly 20 persons have so far been detained. They include some women. Three persons were nabbed from Kathmandu in Nepal.
Meanwhile, search operations continued for 17th day today without any success.
Nine Army soldiers, two of them JCOs, have been martyred so far in Chamrer forests of Surankote and Bhatta Durrian jungles of Mendhar in the gun battles with the militants.
