2 boys shun violence

SRINAGAR, Jan 1: Two boys from Kangan area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district, who had gone missing and later updated their pictures carrying a hand grenade over social media, have today surrendered before Army in Pulwama.
The boys Suhail Ahmad Dar son of Bashir Ahmad Dar, a class 10th student and Arif Ahmad Dar son of Bashir Ahmad Dar, a 9th class student had gone missing after offering Friday prayers at the local mosque in Kangan.
The duo then uploaded their pictures on Facebook, carrying a hand grenade. However, today the boys returned home and joined their families, who presented them before the Army at the 55 RR camp.
The Army has assured the boys every help in their endeavor to return to the mainstream and promised that no cases will be pursued against them.
The boys have handed over the hand grenade to the Army. The officials at the 55 RR camp reiterated that anyone who wants to shun violence and come back will be provided a dignified exit into the mainstream from violence.
