JAMMU, Dec 26: Kanachack police today foiled a bovine smuggling bid and rescued 2 milch animals.
A police spokesman said that, on specific inputs, police party from Kanachack police station laid a naka at Chack Zaffar and intercepted Tata Mobile bearing registration number JK14-6354.
During checking, police rescued 2 bovine animals which were being transported illegally from Kanachack to Srinagar.
The driver of the vehicle managed to escape from the spot.
A case under FIR number 216/13 under Section 188 RPC has been registered at Kanachack police station and investigation started.
