2 bovine smugglers held

JAMMU, Oct 12: Police today arrested two bovine smugglers and rescued 19 milch animals in two different incidents in district Ramban.
Police spokesman said that, on specific inputs, Police party from Gool Police Station laid a naka at Dalwah area of Sangaldan, district Ramban and intercepted two persons carrying bovine animals by foot towards Valley.
During questioning, the duo broke down, accepted the crime and later both identified as Mohd Anwar, son of Abdul Rashid and Javed Ahmed, son of Habibullah, both residents of Moh-Mangat, Banihal, were arrested, spokesman said, adding, that 10 bovines were rescued from their possession.
A case under Section 188 RPC has been registered at Police Station Gool and investigation started.
Meanwhile, during naka at Shan Palace, police party from Ramban Police Station intercepted one Srinagar bound Tata mobile bearing registration number JK12-1871.
During checking, police rescued nine bovine animals, while, the smuggler managed to flee from the spot, leaving behind the vehicle.
A case under Section 188 RPC, 3 PCA Act at Ramban Police Station and launched a manhunt to nab the absconding bovine smuggler.
