MENDHAR, Mar 3: The police arrested two persons and recovered 130 bottles of illicit liquor from their possession in Balakote area of Mendhar Sub Division in district Poonch today.
Official sources said that a Police party led by PSI Suman Sharma from Police Post Balakote during naka under the supervision of SDPO Mendhar Shezaan Bhatt, intercepted two persons namely Mahmood Ahmed, son of Mohammad Aslam, residence of Bhara village and Shah Nawaz, son of Mohd Taj, residence of Sangala, Mendhar along with WagonR bearing registration No. JK 12-5338 and arrested the both with 138 bottles of illicit liquor.
The police has registered FIR No. 40/2022 under Section 48 Excise Act at Police Station Mendhar against the accused persons. Further investigation was in progress. Police was looking for the source from where this liquor has been brought.
