RAJOURI, Aug 30: Police today foiled two separate attempts of bovine smuggling and rescued eight animals besides arresting the accused smugglers.
Reports said that during naka checking at Kallar early this morning, Police party intercepted one Tata Mobile bearing registration number JK11D-5719, which was on its way from Kallar to Rajouri. During checking, three bovine animals were found loaded in the vehicle without any valid permission.
Driven of the vehicle, identified as Mohammed Sahil, was arrested on the spot while the bovine animals were rescued and the vehicle was also seized.
In another success, a Tata Mobile vehicle (JK11D-4337) loaded with five bovine animals and on way from Lam toward Rajouri, was intercepted by a police party of PP Lam at Qila Darhal during intervening night of August 29-30.
Police arrested the vehicle driver, identified as Firaz Ahmed, son of Mohd Shafi of Andhroot and rescued the animals. A case FIR number 175/21 U/Sec.188 IPC 11 PCA Act has been registered at PS Nowshera.
