2 ASI injured in stone pelting

RAJOURI, Sept 22: Two Assistant Sub Inspectors of Police were injured today in an incident of stone pelting by some miscreants during demarcation of a disputed piece of land and removal of encroachment on the same in Rajouri town, here today.
Police has arrested five miscreants, including two women, who were allegedly involved in the stone pelting on the Police party, which was accompanying a Duty Magistrate at the site of incident.
Reports said that Tehsildar Rajouri, Ghulam Din Choudhary along with a Police party had gone for demarcation of a piece of land at Nagrota, which was cause of dispute between Mohd Abrar, son of Mohd Hafiz and his relative Mohd Akram, son of Noor Alam.
When the Revenue and Police team were on the job, some members of two families resorted to stone pelting on the police party resulting in minor injuries to ASI Abdul Qayoom and Tufail Ahmed.
Meanwhile, SHO Rajouri Ajay Singh Chib also rushed to the spot with additional manpower and brought the situation under control.
Police registered a case in this connection and arrested five persons, including two women, for the stone pelting.
The arrested persons were identified as Mohd Ishtiaq, son of Mohd Hafiz, Shahbaz Khan, son of Mohd Hafeez, Raees Khan, son of Shahbaz Khan, Zahida Begum, wife of Basharat Khan and Shaheen, wife of Khaliq Khan.
