JAMMU, Dec 9: Nagrota police under ‘Operation Sanjeevani’ arrested two persons and recovered one kilograms of cannabis (charas) from their possession.
As per police spokesman, a team from Nagrota police station laid a naka and intercepted a Swift car.
During checking, police recovered 1 kilograms of cannabis (charas) from the vehicle and arrested the driver and his associate on the spot.
The accused have been identified as Farooq Ahmed and Mohammad Asif, both resident of Anantnag.
A case under FIR Number 228/16 under Section 8/20 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered at Nagrota police station and investigation started to ascertain the source of the consignment.
Police team led by SHO Nagrota Inspector Suhail Rashid made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Amit Kumar and SP Rural Aurn Gupta.
