2 arrested in Kalakote coal mine theft case

RAJOURI, Feb 3: The Police has arrested two thieves for their involvement in the burglary of mining material from the coal mine workshop situated at Beragoa in the Kalakote sub-division of Rajouri district.
In this connection, a complaint was lodged with the police at the Kalakote Police Station by an employee of Coal Mining Department mentioning that during the intervening night of January 30 & 31, some unidentified burglars entered the workshop and decamped along with mining material.
The burglars allegedly loaded the stolen material in load carrier bearing registration No. JK06B-4690 and escaped.
On the complaint, the police booked the unidentified burglars in case FIR No. 4/2023 under section 379 IPC and started investigation.
On human and technical surveillance, the police nabbed the burglars and on their disclosure also recovered the vehicle and stolen material.
The burglars have been identified as Mohd Younis, son of Mohd Akram, resident of Dhara Fatehpur, Mandi and Saddam Hussain, son of Afsar Khan, resident of Surhooti Ari (Mendhar), in Poonch district. Further, investigation into the case is going on.
