KATHUA, Aug 4: Police today foiled a bovine smuggling bid by arresting two smugglers and rescued 2 cattle from their clutches.
After getting specific inputs, a Police Party of Rajbagh Police Station under the supervision of SHO Inspector Naresh Kumar organized a naka at NHW Rajbagh and intercepted a Mahindra load carrier bearing registration No JK14C/5542 on its way to Jammu from Kathua. During through checking, the police recovered 2 oxen being smuggled to Valley without any valid permission from the concerned authorities.
Police seized the vehicle and arrested both driver of the vehicle namely Saif Din son of Mir Ali, resident of Darsoo, district Udhampur and his associate Amin Mohammad son of Ghulam Mohd, resident of Hartyan, district Udhampur.
A Case FIR No 157/2013 U/S 188 RPC has been registered at Police Station Rajbagh and furthur investigation is going on.
