2 Army men injured in accidental fire

RAJOURI, June 7: Two Army Jawans of Rashtriya Rifles were injured after the rifle of one of them went off accidentally inside a camp in Manjakote area, here today.
According to Police, the incident took place at Galthi in Manjakote area during a routine security exercise when rifle of one of the Army men went off accidentally, resulting into injuries to the two. They were unloading their weapons as per the protocol after returning from operational duty, said the Police
Both the injured were immediately shifted to Army medical facility where they are under treatment and reported to be out of danger. They were identified as Baru Singh, age 35 years and Madan Singh, age 26 years of 49-RR, said Inspector Ibrar Khan, Incharge SHO Manjakote.
Meanwhile Army has started inquest proceedings in the matter.
