JAMMU, June 13: First successful finger replantation surgery was performed at Pulse Hospital and Research Centre Jammu by Dr Maneesh K Sharma, a renowned Plastic Surgeon.
A patient named Ashok Kumar reported to Pulse Hospital emergency with total amputation (no circulation) of left little finger and partial amputation (tendon and nerve injury) of ring finger. The patient was attended by Dr Maneesh K Sharma and emergency team of Pulse Hospital.
The patient was immediately shifted to an operation theater where small blood vessels, nerves and tendons were repaired under a microscope by Dr Maneesh K Sharma and OT team (anesthesia by Dr Mushtaq Wani and his Assistant Anil Sharma). The patient responded well to the treatment and after three days, he was discharged.
Dr Maneesh K Sharma has done his MBBS and MS in General Surgery from GMC Jammu and DNB Plastic Surgery from Amandeep Hospital, Amritsar. He is well trained in Trauma surgeries, Diabetic foot surgeries, Hair transplant and Cosmetic surgeries.
