JAMMU, May 22: The first Percutaneous Endoscopy Discectomy was performed today in Jammu & Kashmir by Dr Rohit Lahori, noted Interventional Pain Specialist of the UT and Dr Pankaj Surange Director of IPSC Pain and Spinal Hospital New Delhi on a young female patient at JK Medicity.
The patient had been suffering from Lumber Disc and pain RT Leg with numbness of toes for last 2 years. The patient was unable to walk for more than 100 meters and do her daily activities. The surgery was performed with the innovative technique in which no incision is given to the patient.
This is a new innovative technique and an awaken surgery which is performed under local anaesthesia and disc is removed, said Dr Lahori. He said this type of surgery is a day care surgery and doesn’t require patient to stay too long in hospital. Patient is allowed to walk same day and resume all daily activities in couple of days, he added.
