JAMMU, Nov 23: First CME on research methodology and basics of research by MBBS students of Government Medical College, Jammu was held today under the banner of Students Research Development Council of the Institution.
Dr AS Bhatia, Principal and Dean, GMC Rajouri was the chief guest the occasion. In his address, Dr Bhatia said that this is a very innovative idea to cultivate research culture amongst the MBBS students at the earliest phase of medical carrier. He expressed a desire that the next council scientific event should be held at GMC Rajouri.
Principal and Dean of GMC Jammu, Dr Ashutosh Gupta, in his inaugural address, said that students from GMC Doda, GMC Kathua, GMC Rajouri and ASCOMS should frequently interact with these research forums constituted with the aim to develop interaction amongst the students of various institutions.
Ritik Kaste and Namrata Bhat spoke on the topic Conceiving Research Question and the mentors on this topic were Dr Vishal Tandon and Dr Ashima Badyal. Shraddha Gupta and Manya Sharma spoke on the topic Scientific Research Protocol Writing and the mentors on this topic were Dr Rashmi Kumari Gupta and Dr Rajat Gupta.
Lavanya Gupta and Radhika Rani spoke on the topic CTRI Registration and the mentors on this topic were Dr Neha Mahajan and Dr Vinod Kumar Katil while Rijula Arora and Pratibha Shalli Sharma spoke on the topic Approaching Funding Agencies for funds/grants and the mentors on this topic were Dr Sharminder Kaur Johar and Dr Rashmi Kumari Gupta.
Prikshit Jamwal and Akriti Sharma spoke on the topic Good Research Practices and the mentors on this topic were Dr Vishal Tandon and Dr Zahur Hussain whereas Sarthak Sharma and Ravinav Singh Johar spoke on the topic How to get through IEC and the mentors on this topic were Dr Ashima Badyal and Dr Pallavi Mahajan.
The meeting was attended by more than 150 participants who were later distributed certificates of participation.
