1983 WC winning Captain Kapil turns 60

NEW DELHI: Team India’s 1983 World Cup winning Captain and one of the best all-rounders in Indian cricket Kapil Dev turned 60 on Sunday.
Former and present cricketing fraternity also took to their twitter handle to greet the all-rounder on his 60th birthday. BCCI also wished the former star captain on its official twitter handle.
The former captain played 131 Tests from 184 innings scoring 5248 runs at an average of 31.1 runs taking 434 wickets with 8 century and 27 half century while in ODIs from 225 matches contributing 3783 runs at an average of 23.8 taking 253 wickets with one century and 14 half centuries.
However, the selectors dropped him in his 66th Test match against England in Delhi in 1984 which the hosts lost. (AGENCIES)
