191 recruited in BSF

A BSF recruit being felicitated at passing out parade at STC BSF, Udhampur.

UDHAMPUR, Sept 10: Attestation-cum-passing out parade was held at Subsidiary Training Centre (STC), Border Security Force (BSF) here.
In the parade, a total of 191 recruits including 107 from Jammu and Kashmir, 75 from Uttar Pradesh, one from Odissa, 3 from West Bengal, 2 from Assam, one from Madhya Pradesh, 42 graduates and 73 plus two pass-outs participated.
The attestation-cum-passing out parade was the culmination of 34 weeks of rigorous basic training, which has equipped the recruits for performing duties on border and in counter insurgency operations.
SS Tomar, Inspector General FTR HQ BSF Jammu took the salute and congratulated Lakhwinder Singh Bal, DIG STC BSF Udhampur and training staff as well as the recruits for putting up a commendable performance in the parade.
In his address, Tomar stressed upon the importance of hard work, dedication to duty and high degree of integrity while discharging duties on the border as well as in counter insurgency operations.
He reminded the recruits that they are the first line of defence for the country and it is their primary duty to ensure the sanctity of the borders.
The parade was commanded by Recruit Constable Rohit Kumar STC BSF Udhampur.
Medals were awarded by SS Tomar to Constable Bhupendra securing overall first rank, Constable Jagdev singh for overall 2nd rank, Constable  Rohit Kumar for best in drill, Constable Sanjeev Kumar for best in endurance and Constable Sunil Kumar Best for Shooting.
Senior officers from Army, Air Force, other CPMFs, Police and Civil Administration were also present on the occasion. The parade was also witnessed by family members of BSF personnel as well as of recruits.
