19 bovines seized, smugglers flee

RAJOURI, Aug 7: The police rescued 19 bovine animals  and foiled two separate smuggling attempts in district Rajouri during last night.
A team of police headed by Incharge PP Chingus SI Fareed Ahmed received an input that some smugglers along with bovines have been seen moving in Digani area of Chingus last night after which team rushed to the spot. However, the smugglers saw cops coming from some distance and fled from the spot while ten bovine animals being smuggled were rescued.
Another police team headed by SHO Kalakote, Mustaj Hussain laid a naka at Sialsui last night after getting information that a smuggler is moving along with bovines from upper side of the village. The team rushed to the spot but smuggler saw cops coming from down the hill and escaped while all four bovines were rescued.
Similarly while chasing a Tata Mobile, police party from Police Station Sunderbani led by SHO Tilak Raj rescued five bovines from the smugglers at Beripatan during  wee hours today.  However, the smugglers managed to escape leaving behind the vehicle.    Cases have been registered at Police Station, Rajouri, Kalakote and Sunderbani in this connection.
