RAJOURI, Aug 27: The police seized 19 bovine animals and arrested two smugglers from Nowshera, Thannamandi and Darasmsal area of district Rajouri during last night.
Official sources said that police naka party from Thannamandi intercepted a Tata Mobile vehicle No. JK-11/2441 during last night and found 6 bovine animals loaded in it. This vehicle was on way to Srinagar via Mughal Road and driver had no required permission for it.
The police arrested smuggler Maqbool Hussain, son of Jalal Din, resident of Targain in Budhal and seized vehicle along with six cattle. A case FIR No. 131/2015 was registered in this connection.
Nowshera police party led by ASI Roshan Lal during naka at Chak Jaralan (Bagnoti) during early hours today, seized five bovine animals and arrested one Mehar Ali, son of Abdul Aziz, resident of Dandesar. A case FIR No. 161/ 2015 was registered against him.
Meanwhile, Dharamsal police party during Naka at Solki seized eight bovine animals. These animals were being brought on foot to cross naka point for further transportation in a vehicle by the smugglers. The police said the two bovine animals escaped taking cover of darkness but the animals were seized.
Meanwhile, Kotranka police party led by Insp Mohd Yunis seized 37 bottles of illicit liquor and arrested one Onkar Singh of Gadyot village, He was carrying this consignment in a tempo No. JK-14A/ 7292.
