19 bovine animals rescued, 5 smugglers arrested

UDHAMPR, May 24: Udhampur Police today foiled three separate attempts of bovine smuggling and rescued 19 animals besides arresting 5 accused persons.
Acting on reliable information, a Police party, headed by I/C PP Sudhmahadev,    rescued eight bovine animals from the possession of accused namely Mohd Rafiq of Baishty Chenani and   Talib Husssain of Jakhani Udhampur, who were arrested on the spot.  In this regard, a Case FIR No. 61/2017 U/S 188/RPC has been registered at P/S Chenani and further investigation is going on.
In another case, the naka party of Police Station Udhampur intercepted a Cantre bearing registration number JK14B-6555 at Jakhani. During checking, 7 bovine animals were found loaded in the vehicle in very cruel manner. The animals were rescued and the accused persons were arrested. They were identified as Mohd Javed of Tajoor Majalta and Salman Khan of Kheri Udhampur. In this connection a case FIR No. 222/2017 U/S 188 RPC, 3 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Udhampur. The vehicle is seized and further investigation is going on.
The naka party of Police Station Udhampur at Jakhani also seized a Tata Mobile bearing registration number JK14B-5599, which was found loaded with 4 bovine animals. The accused namely Mohd Javed of Kheri Udhampur was arrested on the spot and the animals were rescued. In this connection a case FIR No. 223/2017 U/S 188 RPC, 3 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Udhampur.
