18 bovines rescued, one smuggler arrested

UDHAMPUR, Jan 16: Udhampur Police rescued 18 bovines and seized one vehicle used for bovine smuggling.
According to the police report, a team of Police Station Majalta, led by SHO, Inspector Rakesh Kumar, intercepted a Tanker bearing registration number JK03F-5957 from Battal naka point.
During checking, 14 bovines were found brutally packed in the Tanker . Police rescued the bovines and arrested driver of the tanker, identified as Mehraj Ud Din, son of Balbir Ahmed Reshi of Palapur, Pampore, Pulwama.
In this regard, a case FIR was registered under relevant sections of law in Police Station Majalta.
Foiling another attempt of bovine smuggling, team of Police Station Ramnagar, led by SHO Sohan Singh, rescued four bovines even as the smuggler managed to escape from the spot. In this regard, case FIR has been registered in Police Station Ramnagar.
