SRINAGAR, May 24: 17th Sqay -Martial Art Championship organised by Sqay Association Shopian in collaboration with Jammu and Kashmir Sqay Association concluded here at Government Boys Higher Secondary School Shopian.
In this Championship, 280 players from different schools of the district participated.
In the inaugural ceremony, MLA Shopian Advocate Mohammad Yousuf was the chief guest. While addressing the players, he assured that he will fully support the Sqay Association at any juncture.
On the occasion, he announced Rs 1 lakh for purchasing of mat and sports kits for the players.
In the 2nd session of the championship, SP Shopian Sheilender Mishra was the chief guest on the occasion and he encouraged the players and assured every kind of support for the sports related activities.
On the closing ceremony, DySP DAR, Tariq Ahmad Wani was the chief guest while President Sports Association Ghulam Hassan Kahan and Principal BHSS Shopian were guest of honours.
Later they jointly gave away the awards to players.
On the occasion, the National and International players were felicitated.
