172 cattle rescued, 2 arrested

RAMBAN, Sept 22: Police foiled bovines smuggling attempts by rescuing 172 cattle and arresting two persons.
As per police sources, on reliable information, teams from Police Station Ramban led by SHO Inspector Sandeep Charak and Police Station Batote laid check points and different locations and intercepted six vehicles.
During checking, police teams rescued 172 bovine animals from the vehicles and arrested two persons, while others managed to escape from the spot.
The arrested persons were identified as Manzoor Ahmed of Govindpura Maitra District Ramban and Mohammad Farooq of Bali Nallah District Udhampur.
Six cases under relevant Sections have been registered at Police Stations Ramban and Batote and investigation started.
