KATRA, Dec 31 : Katra Police today foiled an attempt of bovine smuggling and rescued 17 number of cattle, being smuggled in a LP vehicle, which was intercepted at Moori Naka Point.
Police also seized the said vehicle, bearing registration number JK02AT-7334 and arrested the accused driver, identified as Basharat Ahmed Shah son of Gulzar Ahmed Shah of Chambalbass Banihal. The smuggler was carrying these bovine animals towards Kashmir via Domail without permission.
In this regard, a case FIR number 283/2019, under section 188 IPC, has been registered at Police Station Katra. The smuggling attempt was foiled by SHO Katra, Inspr Pardeep Gupta, assisted by Inspector Sanjeet Sharma I/C PP Kakryal, under the supervision of SDPO Katra Vivek Shekhar and SP Katra Naresh Singh.
