RAJOURI, May 22: A 16-year-old boy died under suspicious circumstances at his home in Samot village, located within the jurisdiction of the Budhal Police Station in Rajouri district.
The deceased has been identified as Mohammad Avaiz, son of Mohammad Qayoom, a resident of Samot, under the jurisdiction of Budhal Police Station. The incident has cast a pall of gloom over the entire locality.
According to reports, the youth went into his room at home last evening around 8:00 PM. When he failed to emerge after a considerable period, family members entered the room to check on him and found him unconscious. A doctor was immediately summoned, and upon examination, the doctor pronounced him dead.
The family members immediately informed the police of the incident. Upon receiving the information, a police team arrived at the scene and shifted the body to Community Health Centre (CHC) Kotranka for a post-mortem examination.
Taking cognizance of the matter, the police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) regarding this mysterious death. Police officials stated that an investigation is underway to ascertain the actual cause of death, and the situation will become fully clear only after the post-mortem report is received.
