SAMBA, Dec 26: Continuing its drive against vagrants wandering near Chitta hotspot, Samba police has detained 16 vagrants under preventive sections of Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) in the jurisdiction of Police Station Vijaypur and sent them to district Jail Kathua.
Police said its team of Police Station (PS) Vijaypur during special operation around infamous Chitta hotspot Rakh Barotian Vijaypur has detained 16 vagrants who were wandering suspiciously in the area.
The detained vagrants have been identified as Sanjay Sharma, son of Paras Ram of Jhullar tehsil, Fatehpur district Kangra (H.P), Shubam Sharma, son of Ramesh Chand of Jhullar tehsil Fatehpur district Kangra Chander Shekhar, son of Gian Chand of Jawali, tehsil Bhermar Khas district Kangra (H.P), Nitish Kumar, son of Rajendra Mahto of Shivnagar Hiri Diara district Munger (Bihar), at present Trikuta Nagar Jammu, Mithu Kumar, son of Mangro Sah of Sector No. 04 Extn. Marble Enclave Trikuta Nagar Jammu, Bittu Kumar, son of Talab Raj of Sec. No. 04 Extn. Marble Enclave Trikuta Nagar Jammu, Yogesh Kumar son of Manoj Kumar of Darsopur Miran Sahib district Jammu, Lalit Kumar, son of Prem Nath of Khoon Amara district Udhampur, Akhil Chopra, son of Prem Kumar Chopra of Ward No. 10 near BDO Office R S Pura district Jammu, Sunny son of Thoru Ram of Swankha Morh tehsil Vijaypur district Samba, Arjun Kumar, son of Om Parkash of Gagain tehsil R.S Pura district Jammu, Gaurav Sharma son of Gopal Dass of Shahbad Colony Bahu Fort Jammu, Vishal Choudhary son of Sham Lal of Karalian tehsil Ramgarh district Samba, Tanveer Singh, son of Surjeet Singh of Talli Morh Miran Sahib district Jammu, Talib Hussain, son of Bashir Ahmed of Rakh Barotian tehsil Vijaypur district Samba and Murad Ali son of Sher Ali of Rakh Barotian tehsil Vijaypur district Samba. This move aims to curb drug-related offenses in the area.
Samba police has reiterated its firm commitment to eliminate the drug menace from society and has assured that stringent action will continue against individuals involved in drug peddling and drug abuse. Samba Police urged upon general public to remain vigilant and actively cooperate with the Police in its ongoing efforts to eradicate this social evil.
