16 injured as bus rolls down in gorge

UDHAMPUR, Feb 24: Nine women among 16 persons were  injured when a passenger bus on way from Ramnagar to Udhampur, rolled down in a gorge near Khoo Nallah, here today.
The bus,  bearing registration number JK02E-6136,  slipped into the gorge when its driver lost control over steering while negotiating a sharp curb near Khoo Nallah.
Police shifted injured persons to District Hospital Udhampur.
They were  identified as Dhani (65) wife of  Kirpu of Ram Nagar, Sushma Devi (34) wife of  Vinod Kumar of Chanunata, Krishani (65) wife of  Chandu of Ram Nagar, Maya Devi (32) wife of  Nek Ram of Ram Nagar, Romesh Kumar (35) son of Krishan Lal of Ser Bala, Surishata (30) wife of  Romesh Kumar of Ser Bala, Sham Lal (30) son of Ludhri Ram of Panj Grain, Natha Ram (70) son of Hari Ram of Sear Bala, Jeet Kumar son of Ludri of Panj Grai, Suman Devi (29) wife of  Mulkh Raj of Khoo, Yog Raj (24) son of Bishwa Nath of Chanunta, Anu Kumar (44) son of Krishan Dutt of Chanunta, Romesh Kumar son of Faquir Chand of Barta, Shela Devi wife of  Kuldeep Kumar of Barta, Neelam wife of  Birj Lal of Panj Grain and Surju son of Mulkh Raj of Panj Grain.
Except two, all of them were discharged from the hospital after first aid while condition of the  remaining  two was also stated to be stable.
