POONCH, Aug 20: At least 16 persons were injured when a tipper and passenger bus met head-on-collision in Mandi area of district Poonch this morning.
Official sources said that the mishap took place when the bus bearing registration number JK02A/0629 was on way to Mandi from Sabjian area near the LOC. Near Chamber village, the bus met head- on- collision with a Tipper No. JK12/ 9838 at around 8.15 pm.

At least 16 bus passengers sustained injuries and were shifted to Mandi hospital. While 11 injured were discharged after providing first aid, four others were admitted with multiple injuries. They have been identified as Manzoor Ahmed, son of Jamala Lone; Ghulam Ahmed, son of Abdul Samad; Mumtaz Begum, daughter of Wazir Mohd; Showkat Ali, son of Khadam Hussain and Salima Begum, wife of Mohd Ishaq, all residents of Sabjian. The police has taken cognizance of the matter.
