KATHUA, Jan 5: Police seized 16 bovine animals and arrested two persons from Lakhanpur area early today.
Reports said the police naka party intercepted two trucks bearing registration No. JK02AD/1977 and JK02AD/1116 near old Toll Plaza at Lakhanpur today. Two smugglers managed to escape while two others were nabbed. They were identified as Aman Din, son of Shafi Gujjar and Shamas Din, son of Shah Din of Jarai village. Two others who escaped were later identified as Saif Ali, son of Noor Ahmed and Abdul Ghani, son of Noor Ahmed of Magar Khud in Kathua. The police rescued all the bovine animals and registered a case against the accused persons.
