16 bovine animals rescued, 2 smugglers held

UDHAMPUR, May 28: Udhampur Police today rescued 16 bovine animals at Majalta and arrested two smugglers in this connection.
Reports said that during the wee hours today, Police party from PP Khoon, while patrolling in village Sail Kouri, intercepted two trucks bearing registration number JK0N-9855 and JK14B-1095.
On checking, these trucks were found loaded with 16 bovines, which were being smuggled to Kashmir. Police rescued the animals and arrested both the drivers, identified as Ab Khamid, son of Noorani of Sumb Bagoon, district Samba and Mohd Irfan, son of Ab Aziz of Karma, district Ramban.
Police also seized both the trucks and registered a case FIR No.39 /2018 U /S 188 RPC, 3 PCA Act at Police Station Majalta.
