Srinagar, June 1: Government today said a total of 1581 posts of teachers are lying vacant in Jammu Zone of the State.
In a written reply to MLC Sham Lal Bhagat in Upper House, the Minister Incharge Education said Samba district has 232 vacant posts, Kathua 406, Rajouri 290, Poonch 86, Udhampur 268, Reasi 72 and Kishtwar 4. However, no post is lying vacant in Ramban, Jammu and Doda districts.
The Government stated that 244 posts of teachers with respect of Jammu Division have been identified under direct quota and are being referred to Service Selection Board for fast track recruitment. “The promotion quota posts will be filled through DPC shortly.” the Minister added.
