157 Kanals of prime land retrieved in Samba

SAMBA, Nov 20: District administration, Samba today conducted anti encroachment drive at village Palth of tehsil Samba and retrieved 157 Kanals and 15 Marlas of prime land.
The anti encroachment drive was held under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner, Samba, Rohit Khajuria. The anti encroachment team comprising of Revenue and police officers pressed JCB machines into action early this morning and dismantled several concrete structures including sheds, pavements, boundary walls, RCC structures and other temporary sheds as well. Attempts of changing the nature of land was also foiled by administration.
Giving details about the drive officials informed that out of 157 Kanals 15 Marlas State land, 50 Kanals and five Marlas under Roshni Act was illegally possessed by private influential persons while remaining 107 Kanals 10 Marlas of Khasra No. 70 & 94 is other than Roshni Act. The illegal encroachers entries have been already canceled, the officials said.
During the anti encroachment drive Assistant Commissioner, Revenue, Jitender Mishra, Tehsildar Samba, Rampal, ASI, Balbir Singh besides other field staff of revenue and police were present.
