JAMMU, Oct 23: Fifteen fresh cases of dengue were reported today in Jammu region, taking the number of people affected with this vector-borne disease so far this season to 365.
According to official sources, as on today a total of 2205 patients have been tested for dengue out of which 365 cases have been found positive and reports of 1704 have been found negative while result of 136 samples are still awaited. “No death has been reported due to dengue so far”, they added.
Elaborating more, sources said that out of 365 dengue cases, maximum 297 have been reported in Jammu district followed by 28 in Samba, 14 in Kathua, seven in Rajouri, six each in Udhampur and Doda, three in Poonch and one each in Reasi, Ramban and Kishtwar districts.
They further revealed that out of these 365 dengue patients, 242 were adults (156 males and 86 females) and 123 were children (74 males and 49 females).
“So far dengue has not claimed any life in Jammu region and most of the patients affected with the disease have returned to their homes after successful treatment in various hospitals”, they added.
