JAMMU, Sept 27: Kalakote police today rescued 15 bovine animals and arrested four smugglers.
A police spokesman said that, on specific inputs, police party from Kalakote Police Station laid a naka at Kharak and intercepted three vehicles.
During checking, police recovered 15 bovine animals and arrested four smugglers, who have been identified as Mohammad Farooq and Mangeel Ahmed, both residents of Surankote, Abdul Karim and Zabeer Ahmed, both residents of Manjakote.
Cases under FIR numbers 69/13, 70/13, 71/13 and under Section 188 RPC and 3 PCA Act have been registered at Kalakote Police Station and investigation started.
Police party led by Sub-Inspector (SI) Mukesh Sharma made the arrest under the supervision of Inspector Vikram Parihar.
