JAMMU, Dec 21: Nagrota police under ‘Operation Kamdhenu’ rescued 15 bovine animals and arrested one smuggler.
As per police sources, based on specific inputa, a team from Nagrota Police Station laid a naka near Ban Toll Plaza and intercepted a Srinagar bound truck bearing registration number JK02BN-7844.
During checking, police rescued 15 cattle from the vehicle and arrested one smuggler, who has been identified as Liaqat Ali, son of Bashir Ahmed of Upper Thana District Udhampur.
A case under FIR Number 317/18 under section 188 RPC and 3/5 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Nagrota and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Nagrota Inspector Deepak Pathania and assisted by SI Mohammad Ashraf made the arrest under the supervision of Mohan Lal Sharma SDPO Nagrota, Dushyant Sharma SP Rural Jammu and Vivek Gupta DIG JKS Range/SSP Jammu.
