15 bags of Chir charcoal seized

POONCH, Aug 7: Forest Protection Force (FPF) seized 15 gunny bags of Chir charcoal from Magnad area of district Poonch today.
A senior FPF official said that the a team of FPF comprising Kuldeep Kumar, Mohinder Singh and Rajesh Luthra under the supervision of Dy Director FPF, Gamma Unit J-7 Poonch acting on a tip off conducted a raid and seized 15 bags filled with Chir charcoal from Magnad village in Poonch. The goods had been dumped there for further transportation to Poonch. Charcoal being forest produce is banned and can not be manufactured or transported without proper permission. So it is an offence under J&K Forest Act 1987. The seized goods were then handed over to DFO Poonch for further action under law.
