JAMMU, Aug 7: Over 3,70,000 pilgrims paid their obeisance at holy cave of Swami Amarnath situated in deep Himalayas in South Kashmir district of Anantnag at an altitude of 14,000 feet from sea level during 41 days of yatra.
According to an official spokesman on day 41 of yatra today 1,461 pilgrims performed darshan at holy cave from both shortest Baltal and traditional Chandanwari tracks.
The spokesman said with this the total number of pilgrims performing darshan in holy cave since the 44 day long yatra started on June 28 has touched 3,70,339.
He said the weather was pleasant on both the tracks to cave shrine today and yatra proceeded smoothly.
He said 581 pilgrims left from Baltal Base camp to holy cave today. Out of them 251 left via chopper. He said 300 pilgrims left from Nunwan (Pahalgam) base camp via traditional Chandanwari track under tight security.
The holy mace of Lord Shiva also left the Pahalgam for Sheshnag early today and after a night halt at Sheshnag it will leave for Panchtarni tomorrow.
The pilgrims having night halt at Sheshnag and Panchtarni also left for holy cave this morning, he added.
Meanwhile 81 pilgrims left Bhagwati Nagar Jammu Yatri Niwas under tight security for holy cave in four vehicles early this morning.
These yatris had reached their respective destinations in Kashmir Valley late tonight where from they will leave for holy cave early tomorrow morning.
