REASI, May 4: Police foiled an attempt of bovine smuggling at Saiter Nallah Pouni and rescued 14 animals besides arresting the smuggler.
An information was received at Police Station Pouni that some bovine smugglers were smuggling cattle from Gajore area of Pouni towards Kashmir via Saiter Nallah for selling purpose. Acting swiftly, the police party laid a Naka at Saiter Nallah and apprehended the accused smugglers, identified as Sarfraz Ali son of Muzaffar Ali of Gajore Pouni who was carrying 14 bovine animals without any valid permission of the concerned authority.
Police arrested the accused and rescued all the bovine animals. In this connection, case FIR number 23/2024 U/S 188 IPC 11(1) (A) PCA Act has been registered at P/S Pouni.
The whole operation was led by SHO Pouni, Insp Parmod Singh under the supervision of DySP HQ Reasi Neeraj Padyar.
