JAMMU, Sept 21: Jhajjar Kotli Police today rescued 14 bovine animals that were being smuggled in a vehicle.
“During naka checking, a vehicle bearing registration number JK19-8468 which was on its way from Barga Sanger to Udhampur, was checked by a team of Police Post Manwal,” a police spokesman said.
He said on checking, 14 bovines were found loaded in the vehicle in a brutal manner. “In this regard, a case FIR number 222/2022 U/S188 IPC, 11 PCA Act, 50, 52, 54, 56 Transportation of Animals of Rules 1978 Act got registered at Police Station Jhajjar Kotli and the vehicle was seized,” he added.
Further investigation of the case was going on.
