UDHAMPUR, Nov 22: Chenani Police today foiled an attempt of bovine smuggling and rescued 14 cattle besides arresting two smugglers.
Based on specific information, a Police party led by SHO Chenani, Paramjeet Singh, under the supervision of Santokh Raj Deol, SDPO Chenani, intercepted a bovine animal loaded Dumper bearing registration number JK14D-2139, near Chenani-Nashri tunnel.
14 bovine animals, which were being smuggled to Kashmir valley, were rescued while the smugglers, namely Abdul Majid Gujjar of Mralia Jammu and Mohamed Akram son of Liaqat Ali of Khanpur, Talab Tillo Jammu, were arrested on the spot.
In this connection, a case was registered under section 188/RPC, 3 PCA at Police Station Chenani.
