JAMMU, Aug 4: Bagh-e-Bahu Police seized 1350 kilograms of banned polythene bags.
As per police sources, on specific information a team from Police Station Bagh-e-Bahu led by SHO Inspector Sikander Singh Chouhan under the supervision of SDPO City East Syed Zaheer Abbas Jafari and SP City South Mamta Sharma laid a naka and intercepted a truck bearing registration number JKO3L-4147 coming from Narwal towards Sidhra.
During checking, police team recovered 1350 kilograms of banned polythene bags from the vehicle and detained the driver, who was identified as Mohd Ashraf Bhat, son of Mohd Jamal Bhat of Magam Tehsil Kokernag District Anantnag.
Divisional Officer of Pollution Control Board (PCB) Jammu was informed and said truck alongwith banned material was handed over to concerned officers for further proceeding under law.
